I sat in the library over cold coffee and opened books, going over notes for a twelfth-grade biology quiz. I wanted to prove to Mom that I could do more than throw a football. Well, that and I had to. My coach said to get my biology grade up, or he’d cut me from the team. I flipped through pages but only read my mind.
