On the long drive home,
reflect on who loves whom more.
Shivers travel the length of your spine
as you envision me tapping your shoulder
in the backseat.
In my eyes,
I want you more than you’ll
ever want me,
so crash into my heart,
burn my hope with a dashboard,
make your parents proud
for once and start a college course
then call the school
threaten love with a disaster,
excusing the students for summer,
and then we’ll fuck at your grandfather’s barn.
In your eyes, you love me more than I’ll ever love you.
We major in the esoteric catastrophe that is love.
(To anyone who likes this post, thank you so much. You’re my hero.)
