Relish In Imagination

Relish in the promise of memories,
waiting, aiming for anxious lips
to hit or miss, a mistake
that I can’t bear to make.
Your presence is present
with the breeze you make
when you think I’m not around.
Your aroma drifts into my nostrils
before my gaze meets
your ocean-blue eyes.
Alone in my home,
we meander each other’s bodies.
The embers in the fireplace flicker
as the flames dance,
warming my self-esteem.
I relish in a kiss before
the clock chimes midnight
before you had to go home.
Another manic case of belated
reflections of better times
spent in what’s best left
to the imagination.
