I adjust my collar,
wipe the sweat from my brow,
as my reflections roam southbound,
I shudder with sobs
through weary eyes,
scrutinizing what I said
before I head to bed.
I miss what I can’t find.
Miss what I can’t have,
I miss all aspects of you.
You’re here, but your mind
is somewhere else, somewhere
I’d rather you not be,
but a quick fix won’t do.
I’ve got but lint in my pockets,
so I can’t afford another kiss,
not when the light bill is due.
So, on second thought, screw you.
