Begging For Love

It hasn’t been the same,
I haven’t been the same,
not since a night, that night,
the night you left.
I’m a wreck as time slides
between my fingers like sand.
My thoughts rearrange the suffocated
images of memories I’d stripped
of their meaning.
I stretched my skin thin,
overthinking again,
but by no accident, you planned
this all along.
I didn’t beg you to leave,
but I’ll beg you to stay, stay
home and never leave me again
because without you,
I’m not good at being me.
