Destiny escaped through fate.
Gloom defined its shadows
on traces of deadpan faces.
A lonely girl ties the knot
through a slipknot,
her kid clouts on a tire swing
beneath the maple tree
with spinning steps,
Faster, Mommy. The kid shivers with laughter.
Weekends clambered over shattered years.
Trouble learned its lesson,
teaching me: It’s okay to be me.
