Suitor’s Saddest Side

I was told that it wasn’t my fault,
but that’s not true, at least not
with you.
But God, if you only knew,
knew that I can’t sleep
without the thought of you.
A dreary day, most of which
has passed by chilled regrets
the length of my spine.
Staring over your misgivings,
coming from all directions,
your pale face stirred up the suitor in me,
filling joy in the heart that I thought I’d lost.
