Over a heated chat,
she missed a step
and swam for the wind
beneath her broken wing.
Head over heels,
she slipped on a peel
to appeal to her better angel.
A wrinkle in a dart missed her
heart.
I missed my shot,
falling in love
with a woman I didn’t know.
I spiked her drink with a punch.
I arrived as salvation
to gather the damsel in distress
to race her to the emergency room.
She thanked me as a hero.
My mind froze
with an engaging glance.
Our eyes healed us to strength,
making love in an ambulance.
