The way your eyes drift downward
attached to a sigh
when a lie escapes your lips melts
the chivalry that flutters in my heart
through the stars,
in your ocean blue eyes.
The truth sheds tears, but your eyes are dry.
The space in my head is drying in the breeze,
washing the memories, our memories, because
I can’t smile and pretend that you’re not everything
I need to know about you in a costume,
handing out candy because eye candy, you are.
