I gripped and leaned over the bathroom sink,
eyeing myself in the mirror.
I tell Hannah things I could never reveal to her face.
I’d bite my tongue before admitting
what I dared not say in front of her.
“I love you,” I whispered.
Hannah entered the bathroom,
asking me who it was that I loved.
I forgot she had a spare key.
I stammered my words in embarrassment.
“I’ll say it. I love you,” Hannah said, gesturing. “Your turn.”
And now, my life is complete.
