I’d forget about you if I could. I really would.
I’d forget about us if you’d let me. I think I would.
I’d forget about you,
but your name is tattooed on my heart.
Luck ain’t on my side; even in the darkest times,
your crooked smile brightens my path.
My heart hangs from a noose,
waiting for the smoke to clear.
You’re softly dreaming,
totally believing I want to leave or stay,
which I only know because of you.
What you hide behind your guilty eyes, covered
by your auburn hair, keeps me reeling over the past.
An angelic ray of your pale nude body straddled me.
I guess it’s a sign from heaven.
A sign to stay.
