We traded a date over coffee
for cheap thrills in a park
with a pocketful of fear.
We counted stars on a blanket.
She cut the tension,
pinning me to the ground,
begging me to kiss her now.
The silence paralyzed my lips,
wrapping her lipgloss
around my neck.
She cupped my cheeks.
We felt the future in our kiss.
