A Poor Mistake

We’ve got but the light of a black candle on the oak dining room table, shimmering off the dusty chandelier’s wolves countdown my panic, twisting my words into submission with guided precision. I’ve got but lint in my pocket and a one-track mission. We exchanged sweet nothings until we were tussling on Jessa’s bed.
