Love Lasts Forever

I fixed my thick, dark hair in place and turned Mary’s head as I crossed the ballroom. I didn’t have to wait to see her up close to know it was her. I wore a white dress shirt, a loosened red tie, and a black sports coat. Not even the strobe light could hide the deep of her green eyes. Mary’s short red dress fit her curves well, and her red heels cupped her feet like glass slippers. I wasn’t the anxious type, but I felt the tension in my chest. Mary’s mouth hung open agape. Mary elbowed a woman I didn’t know and pointed to me. “Oh my, God. It’s…”
