Say What You Want to Say

Shades of shadows blend with an unforecasted gust rattling the living room windows as Vera enters the house, the door slams behind her. Goosebumps poke through her sun-kissed skin with the shake of her chin, trembling within. My knees knock one against the other—what a pleasant surprise. But before sunrise? I slice air for the right words. If any there be, the language escapes me.
