Not Sorry

The black words on a guiltless white apology weigh heavy on a paper stuck to the splintered glass, giving understanding to a car crash, speaking through my last breath. Solace gets caught between a crooked smile and a shattered voice — a dead letter returned to its sender — the damage done.
