I’m Dating Self-Confidence

But it can’t be over, depression said.
There’s nothing left to say, I said.
You’re so gonna miss me, depression said. I’m your identity.
I don’t know who I am without you. Don’t you think that’s unhealthy?
We’re meant to be together like a stupid kid sticking his tongue to a freezing flag poll.
Can’t think of life without me, can you?
Just think about this for a minute, depression said.
I have, I said.
Who’s she? depression said of my new fling self-confidence strolling out of the bedroom nude.
I told you: I needed something else.
Depression slapped my face. You think you can just move on? You’re so weak.
Even so, self-confidence is better in bed.
